Paarl Saltwater Angerls clean up the shoreline at Fraanskraal

Be Ocean Minded TM This simple idea is the foundation of our company. Being ocean minded and living an ocean lifestyle is about respecting and protecting one of our most valuable resources the ocean. Paarl Saltwater Anglers is a club that identifies with this message. This past weekend the PSA club headed up to Franskraal for their biomonthly outing. While the fishing wasn't up to scratch, they did manage to do a beach cleanup. Collecting more than siz bags of rubbish along the shoreline. The PSA team walk the talk, and in doing so are helping to educate all fishermen on the importance of leaving their chosen playgrounds in a better condition than how they found them. Shorebreak Brigade take on the Umgeni River this Saturday at 8am

We will be cleaning the banks of the Umgeni River, specifically the northern banks close to the mangroves near the beach. We will be meeting at the open grass area along Riverside Rd (grass area close to the on-ramp & bridge over the M4) -cars can be parked there as we will be providing car guards. We want to get things going by 8/8.30am so if you can be there just before 8 that would be great. FTS Safety will be providing safet...y gloves and we suggest that you wear and old pair of shoes or take plastic packets with to cover them - the banks are muddy. The weather unfortunately doesn't look amazing - but this is Durb's and I'm sure it will be bare able.... there is a chance of rain - and we're taking that chance! We are hoping to "clean-up" for at least 2hrs and the aim for the day is 50-100 bags of rubbish. We will also be selling Shorebreak Brigade stickers at R20 each and donating the monies raised to SANCCOB in Cape Town who do an amazing job conserving the marine and bird life along our coastline. We will also have 2 skottels on stand by to cook up a breakfast for everyone involved once the clean up has taken place - I will be taking down 2kg's of bacon and 36 rolls - the first 36 people there will get a free "breakfast'in'roll' compliments of the Shorebreak Brigade. You are more than welcome to BYO and we'll be happy to cook it for you. Please spread the word about tomorrows clean-up, lets try and get the numbers down there so that we can really make a massive difference.
